This is a rather unexpected
millmilestone – this blog is one year old.
When first committing metaphorical pen to paper it’s easy to believe that you must craft a masterpiece every time. That way lies madness and one soon learns that you’d never publish anything under that regime.
There are three things that really stand out from one year of writing this blog:
First, the support and encouragement I have had from others. This has been a big and pleasant surprise considering my subject matter has about as much raunch in it as a dung beetle. Much of what I write is from personal experience and to find people interested in that and in me takes some getting used to. Thank you to those who have helped me maintain the impetus.
The second thing to stand out is which unexpectedly is my most popular post. On the anniversary of her death I wrote a piece about Mrs Silk. Around August last year the Mrs-Silk.com website suddenly disappeared. I started getting hits from Google searches as people wanted to know where the site had gone. Now I get a constant trickle of hits as my post appears at the top, or on the first page for a number of search terms. It’s also been fun that some people have reached out because they were there in that chat room. All of them, in some form or another, have gone on to explore their more feminine aspects. The early Mrs-Silk chatroom had an enormous influence on people similar to myself. This post will be my first post to reach 1000 views (Mrs Silk: An Unintentional Pioneer).
The third item should be no surprise, it’s the sharing of a corner of my space with SwirlingFire – SwirlingFire Home Page. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the collaboration as “Editor”. I’ve watched her grow in to an accomplished writer. She writes about some of the most painful and horrendous experiences and I’ve learned a lot simply discussing some of these behind the scenes. I’m rather pleased that the words published are her own without interference from me and that she has the confidence to stand her ground if she really wants to say something in a post.
These are just a few highlights of the blogging year that has been a great experience. I don’t think I’ve had any negative feedback and only a couple of idiots suggesting that melody was such a dirty girl that she would love to be fucked by them.
Here’s to the next year of writing.
Thank you to all who passed this way and I hope to see you back again.
