SwirlingFire: Who Are You
Who Are You
Baptism by fire
Or funeral pyre The personality evolving
whilst true characters
Remain staticUnder the microscope
Staring at slides
Chemical warfare
Petri dish cultures
Where nothing can hideThe ebb and flow from
strangers to best friends
Machiavelli movements
Practices sleight of hand
Subterfuge
Subtweeting
Secret invite only
Side accounts
What was the purpose
Fake flabby friendships
Not the stuff of sliced breadComplaining of lives
we know nothing about
Sharing our judgements
Our real selves just slipped outThe sun and the moon
Echo body filled waves
Water the cleansing
Of The spiritual ways
Bound by the teachings of Sunday’s best stories
Loading the fakeness
Crass fake gloriesObserving the seasons
Spring flowers blossom
The autumn leaves turn
Rain filled gutters swirl flotsamLove dies on the vine
Hearts turn to ice
Snow laden footsteps
Crushed beneath boots
Friendships now fodder
For ample untruths

This reminded me of a saying an old friend once told me- My standards for friends is so low that I kept tripping over them. For me it falls in line with how people will always disappoint you.

Bloody boundaries, huh?
Hopefully we’ll sniff them out before they get their diseased grip into us next time

oh yes – reading your reply to Marie – “People will always disappoint you because you have integrity” – someone said that to me and it is true – that is why i find it difficult to get close – only so much disappointment one wants in life!

One day, we will find better people and better days.

People seem to change their personalities as they seem fit, at least online. I will never get it…

I used to have a career and part of that job description was to hire/fire staff.
The MD once wisely told me:
“People will always disappoint you because you have integrity”
I’ve made my share of mistakes through the years. I’ve believed liars. Sad, but after many years, it still holds true.
Thanking for reading/comment. I know and understand life is challenging right now.
Best wishes to you and your family
